The Denali Park Canyon begins approximately 1 mile north of  the entrance to Denali National Park, extends another 7 miles, following the Nenana River.   The first mile serves as the main tourism hub for visitors as a large number of services, tour companies, retail shops are located in this area.   There is public parking, paved walking paths and a variety of dining options, which makes this a popular stop, even for people just passing through.

The rest of “the canyon”, as locals call it, is full of hidden trails for hiking, creeks with rocky beds to explore, vehicle pull-outs with gorgeous views and up to class 5 rapids.   You can explore the white water with one of these tour companies.
